Liaison: Police Department
Mark Blomquist has served as a Village Trustee since 2008, and as Deputy Mayor under both Bruce Tucker and previous mayor Chris Sanders since 2009. During his tenure as a Trustee, his focus has been to increase the grant support received by the Village, significantly grow the Village’s fund balance, improve its credit rating, and keep tax increases to a minimum while maintaining the quality and level of services residents expect.
Mark was born in California, and spent a peripatetic childhood shuttling between New York and California, finally winding up (like Trustee Burns) in Baldwin, New York. He and his wife, Amy, have been residents of Piermont since 1997, raising both of their adult sons here. He has been a member of the Piermont Volunteer Fire Department since 2006, where he currently serves as both 2nd Dive Lieutenant and as an EMT.
Mark has worked for the last 25 years as a Managing Director with a corporate finance advisory firm specializing in life sciences transactions, concentrating on both domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, product and technology licensing deals, venture capital, leveraged buyouts, and workouts and reorganizations. He holds a JD from Tulane Law School, an MBA in International Finance from St. John’s University, and a BA in History from SUNY Albany. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and a member of the Bar in both New York and Louisiana.
During his free time, Mark is an avid scuba diver, fly fisherman, and bassist, having made his musical television debut on WBTB’s iconic Uncle Floyd Show in 1979.
